they work

I have been working on getting Pops used to the ear pro. He doesn't love them, but he also doesn't hate them. As a service dog he is occasionally in noisy situations and we need to protect his ears. He does seem to hear less when they're on (which was the goal) although it is not a complete noise cancelation (which we didn't want anyway as he still needs to perform his tasking), he does not seem to be uncomfortable with the way that they fit. They do not fall off or move much either. A little bit tricky to get them on due to the way my hands work, but taking them off is a breeze. I have adopted a method in which I put my hands inside the ear muffs under the padding, hold the band as far open as possible, and place my hands over his nose and atop his ears. I then let my hands come out, leaving the padding and band in place, and just have to adjust the tips of his ears for his comfort. It takes a total of 2 minutes with my hands, which I think is really quite quick. I am still in the teaching phases with him and look forward to testing them fully soon, but I think he will enjoy the noise reduction. I am looking forward to purchasing the goggles in the future as the quality from this company is much better than anything else I have see on the market.

The picture below depicts Pops (current service dog) and Taegan (retired service dog) during the teaching phase. shortly after this photo I let him run around outside so acclimate to the noise differences in his sterile training environment. When he came back inside he was still quite happy and not attempting to remove them, so I gave him a bully stick and allowed him to sit for another 5 -10 minutes to adjust to the sound differences and feeling of chewing on something with them on. After this process he was much happier to take treats and seemed more comfortable with them on.

Doesn't work.

Not happy. My dog is gunshy. We live a mile from a gun range. Put the ear pros on for a walk and it changed nothing in his behavior. He still heard and spooked to every shot made. I'm not returning them. It's just not worth my time. Doubt my video will be shared here.

Fire alarm proof

Our apartment has a very sensitive and LOUD fire alarm that goes off at least twice a week. We are on the 3rd floor so it takes 193 seconds to get out from a dead sleep. Having the ear pro for the pup while it takes so long to get down the stairs has been huge for his ears. The damage it is saving his ears is huge. I can see it in his face when we put them on. Happy pup

Worked perfectly

My dog is afraid of wind noises ( and it’s been very windy) and car noises. When I put the ear pro on her, she immediately calms down. She not freaked out by the car anymore.

This is great. It is cold in Alaska but with this and his googles Harbor is safe riding with his head out the window and loving every second.
